You know when you read reviews for a property and they're mixed and you think to yourself, "Well that person said the bed was comfy, but that person said it was bad...I guess I'll just hope it's good!" That's how I felt when booking this property, and unfortunately, it was a dissapointing stay. Had I been traveling solo, I would have just left. My friend and I made the most of the weekend, but it was not a relaxing stay. The driveway was completely covered in leaves so I wasn't even sure where to pull in to the house. Inside, it smelled like smoke and the bed linens in the smaller adult bedroom were visibility dirty and covered in dog hair. There was no detergent to even do a load of laundry to try and fix things ourselves. The remote was held together with a bandaid (clean...but wth?!) and there was dirt on the ceiling and what looked like a dried pee spot on the floor. I agree with another reviewer who said this seemed like a place where they started renovations and just gave up. There's not much to do in the area either, so for a winter stay where you want a cozy cabin, I wouldn't recommend this. The positives were that the lake was nice, and the kitchen had most of the things we needed for some light cooking. When we contacted the "owner" (It's vacasa so we were texting with support) they were responsive but when it comes to cleanliness, that's something that needs to be attended to well before guests arrive. Oh and that bed...it's definitely not comfortable.
