Whiskey River was as beautiful as shown in the photos. It was cozy, comfortable, and a wonderful retreat. It met the needs of my "I need to get up in the mountains!!" itch.
Not a complaint, but an FYI: the outdoor 'Edison bulb' lights stopped working. We left them unplugged. Not sure if there was a circuit tripped (we couldn't find a breaker panel to check). The kitchen faucet is getting loose: may want to tighten it up, so it works better. The instructions for the pellet stove and projector are out-dated. We figured it all out, but had to do our own research. There is also no dishwasher, though the instructions say to start it upon leaving the premises. Again, not complaining -- just providing information on our stay.
I gave only four stars for cleanliness: there were several dirty dishes in the cabinets and silverware drawer. We had to wash everything prior to use, because they were filthy. We were shocked to find these items in the otherwise clean, tidy place. We know we left the dishes cleaner than we found them (scrubbed off cooking/baked-on grime from several pots and pans).
We left some of our own coffee for the next guest to use. (Only one pot was complimentary? Seriously?)
Other than the dirty dishes and the FYI items mentioned above, we very much enjoyed our stay, and the service and communication we received from Pinon.
