The positive thing about this property is that it is right across the street from a public beach access. Other than that we had quite a few problems.
The area is busy and noisy. The walls are very thin, so you can hear the other guests talking, watching tv, walking around, everything.
There were very few dishes provided and they were all dirty. There was not enough dish washer detergent, toilet paper or trash bags left for our stay. The baseboards all around the apartment were grimy and hairy. One of the bed frames was broken and being held up by a brick. We found a dirty undershirt under one of the beds.
There was no direct access to the fenced in yard and we had to keep our dog on a leash in the yard, which kind of defeats the point of having the fence. Also, the dog waste recepticle in the back yard clearly hadn't been emptied in a very long time, it was too full to use, and all the baggies were gone.
Also, the air-conditioner was extremely loud. It didn't bother us during the day, but it is right outside the bedroom windows, so at night it was very loud every time it kicked on and off.
The ceiling above the shower is stained brown, cracked and bowing. Also, there was dried brown drips on the bathroom walls.
Also, there were literally no closets in the whole apartment.
Last time we stayed in Surf City we stayed at a place equally close to the beach for the same price and it was much cleaner and better maintained. I do not recommend this rental.
