Where do I begin? The positives are the room and parking lot is neat and tidy. It’s centrally located near shops, churches, etc. I’ve been traveling since a child mainly due to the military, so I have stayed in hundreds of rooms. And this hands down is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.
When I checked in I noticed a sign taped to the counter stating Motel 6’s policy that pets stay free. I was then asked to give a $200 cash security deposit for the pets. As far as I knew, we were good to go. Two days later, the manager came pounding on my door one morning screaming at me that I have to pay rent for my pets so I had to hand over $200 in cash on top of what I had already paid for the week.
We then had 2 days/nights where we paid in cash. For those two days he charged us $240 (which includes $40 for a dog tax)and as usual it had to be in cash. The last few days we were there, I paid through Expedia for the room, and had to go and give him $120 cash for the pet fee.
When it came time to leave, I took pictures of the room to show its condition and the manager came to inspect it himself. I had fully expected to get my full security deposit back, but he refused to give us even a dime, saying that there was a tear on on of the curtains (which it’s obviously been there awhile) and apparently it will take the whole $200 to fix it.
I had repeatedly asked for receipts for all of the special charges he made me pay, but was told that by paying cash, he was giving me a discount
