Michelle was a wonderful host with excellent communication. The home was as pictured with thoughtful touches. The shuffleboard was a fun addition. We particularly enjoyed the two living room spaces- the kids could watch their morning cartoons while we read in the other living room. My husband particularly loved the oversized couch, which was very comfortable.
The neighborhood is nice and quiet. Unfortunately (and completely out of control of the owners), an algae bloom (+tested HAB) occurred a few days before our arrival so we were not able to enjoy the water out back other than by sound & sight. With it came no-see-ums that were out of this world, but we learned after the first night to shut all the windows the second the sun went down and they weren’t overly bothersome after that. We brought bug spray with us and the bugs did not deter us from seeing some stunning sunsets.
We enjoyed the quiet location, on the outskirts of Rochester. Took a day trip to Niagara Falls (about an hour and 20 minutes away), spent a day at the Strong Museum of Play (about 25 minutes away- and worth more than a day!), a boat ride on the Sam Patch in Pittsford through the Erie Canal Lock 32 (about 20 minutes away) and there was a great mini golf place in Greece (about 15 minutes away).
Cell service for us was minimal and occasionally SOS (AT&T), however we found the Wi-Fi to be strong and reliable. This is a great location for a peaceful getaway, while being reasonablyclose to everything.
