Una encantadora casa de playa en la costa de Nueva Jersey a solo 40 minutos de Manhattan en ferry, amueblada con buen gusto y con todas las comodidades que pueda necesitar para unas excelentes vacaciones en la playa.

Ubicación:

La ciudad de Highlands, en la costa de Jersey, es una encantadora ciudad costera y la puerta de entrada a Sandy Hook. Nuestra casa de playa está convenientemente ubicada en el centro de Highlands, a una cuadra del agua y en una calle bordeada de restaurantes frente al mar, animados bares y marinas.

Beautiful home - wonderful experience
My daughter and I recently stayed at this property. It was exactly as described - beautiful, comfortable and with all the enmities you might need. The sunsets from the front porch were incredible. Jeff was great to work with and checked in with us several times to ensure all was good.... really appreciated that. The area was quiet and felt very safe. We used this as a jumping off point to visit NYC which we could see lit up at night from the porch. The train, which is fairly close, was easy to access and took about an hour. The second trip into NYC we took the ferry which was also easy to access. This experience was absolutely incredible and having this beautiful home to accommodate our stay was perfect.

A LOT OF MOLD
There was a lot of mold in the kitchen and bathroom. The owner said that there had been water damage a few weeks prior but that he thought that it would dry by itself. We had to find another accomodation and at 7pm (we had already booked a hotel), he wrote to me that his handyman had resolved it by spraying antimold and scraping the top. The mold was coming from water damage inside the ceiling so it wasn't taken care of. Also, you are not supposed to breathe in the anti-mold spray. Usually, you can't go in the house for a certain time after it's been sprayed. We lost the first day of our vacation and had to fight to be reimbursed. We were reimbursed in the end, but it was very stressful. VRBO has a bad customer service. They should have given me a compensation for the trouble and they didn't. I had to call 4 times and threaten to sue them to get reimbursed. In the end, the owner reimbursed me in part and asked that I don't write a review. At first, I didn't write it but VRBO sent me many requests and I don't want other people to be taken advantage of.

Great location near Sandy Hook and Sea Bright
Very nice, modern two bedroom that is located near beaches and within walking distance to restaurants, and a wonderful coffee house. The owner is super responsive to needs while you are there and it was just a very delightful, relaxing atmosphere. Enjoyed the porch and sunrises!

Property not as described
Not shown was no cleaning prior to stay. No linens or towels or toilet paper for 6 guests, unsafe stairs and water leak and mold. Submitted claim to VRBO. Hair and used contacts on bathroom floor and shower. When property owner told these things a 4 pack TP was brought over with cleaning supplies like we were supposed to clean ourselves. No linens towels brought. We left that afternoon after spending all morning trying to find accommodations which ended up being an hour away. The listing needs to be removed from VRBO until building inspected and issues fixed.

Fantastic Stay Near Sandy Hook with Charming Terraces
I had a wonderful stay at this apartment near Sandy Hook. Communication with Jeff, the owner, was seamless and prompt. The location is fantastic, offering easy access to Sandy Hook's attractions (and of course Bahrs). The terraces in the front and back of the house were highlights, providing perfect spots for morning coffee and lunch. Highly recommend!

Pleasant stay in the Highlands
I enjoyed staying at this rental. The location was great. It was clean and the owner was very responsive. The only comment is that there are a lot of stairs so pack light. The stairs to the bedrooms on the second level were steep so if you have back or knee issues they may be a problem. Two of my guests couldn't use the upstairs bedroom and had to sleep on the pull out sofa since they had problems with the stairs and the bathroom upstairs cannot be shared since it is in one of the bedrooms. So if you have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night you have to go down the steep stairs. All in all, though, for me it was a pleasant stay.

Enjoyed our stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. From the early communications with Jeff, the ease of check in, and the great house itself. The neighborhood has street parking, restaurants galore within walking distance, we even took the ferry into NYC and it was pretty seamless. Like other reviewers we were surprised by the steep steps into the bedroom but they were not an issue. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. There wasn’t anything we needed that we didn’t have. Beach pass was a great bonus!

Perfect Getaway
Jeff is a great host, very responsive. House is super comfy and clean with everything you need to enjoy time at the shore. Great views from both balconies. Kitchen is well stocked. Walking distance to many restaurants and beach is a short drive over the bridge. Will definitely return!

Amazing Responsive Host!
We enjoyed our stay very much! The property is super clean and well stocked. So relaxing and so much better staying at VBRO than a hotel room! Jeff responded quickly to any question we had; truly an amazing host. Just be a little careful on the stairs up to the 2 bedrooms; they are carpeted and quite steep so hold on to the rail & don’t wear socks. We would absolutely stay here again because of Jeff!

Quiet location in a friendly town right by the seaside!
Property is well maintained, well managed and has pretty much everything you need. Jeff is extremely responsive and easy to get hold of. The house is in a lovely street/neighbourhood and everyone is friendly. some great cafes and restaurants very close by. Access to beaches and parks within a 5 min drive. We stayed for 2 weeks and didn't want to leave! Plenty of room inside and good living space. Balconys front and back, a back yard, BBQ and garage. Good sized bedrooms and bathrooms. Awesome place!

Yearly gathering of high school friends.
We spend each year in Highlands, with numerous friends from high school (graduated in Monmouth County) and have been doing this for a very long time…the renters in the house come from out of state but lots s of our friends still live in Monmouth and this is a perfect location. Our favorite places to frequent are Proving Grounds and Bahrs and they are both within walking distance; we are Regulars at both places. Jeff is a great Host and very responsive to the calls I made with regard to issues in the houses. I rented this side for two weeks and the other side for one week . We are all in our 70’s and some more agile than others….although we all go non stop. However, one thing I can say, is that the landing at the top of the stairs, has two more stairs to each side., to get to the bedrooms. These stairs are extremely steep and hard to manage. If you have any physical issues, it could be tough, as some of the group did in fact have a hard time. But they did fine in the end. However, I will say, by the end of the two weeks I had been using the stairs as my physical workout and it was just fine. All the homes in Highlands, or most of them, had to be raised after Hurricane Sandy, so all the houses have stairs leading up to the front door and again, once inside, to the second floor. I too have a vacation rental in a resort town, and am very happy to have had this experience with Jeff. Thank you for everything, Jeff; we all greatly appreciated you and all you did. Best Regards.
