“Excellent low budget traditional pub/ hotel”

“Always greeted by polite staff Have stayed here a number of times for work over the past month Always allow me to order breakfast the night before and it’s always made for me for 7am the next morning Showers aren’t the most powerful but they’re ok Everything always clean - stayed in 4 different rooms and all have been clean Convenient location for where I needed and supermarket, local places to eat - all walking distance Good parking ”

“We had a wonderful stay at The Barrel inn. They were accommodating to our potential late arrival, the room was spotless, cosy and fresh. The amazing view at sunset was stunning and although we were too late to eat dinner there, the breakfast was delicious. We had a brilliant night sleep and great hot showers the following morning. This was a recommendation from a friend and so worth it, we’ll definitely be back. ”

“Pleasantly surprised at how large the room was. While there are a few areas of wear and tear, I found the room to be comfortable and clean. Bed was comfortable and even thought this location doesn’t have airco, they do have a fan in room. While small, the fan was sufficient to keep it cool enough for a good nights sleep. We would definitely return to this location, if needed, in the future. No info about breakfast because we didn’t need it but you are conveniently next to a service area so...

“Typical climbers pub and accomodation. Stone floors fire and decent pub grub. Best pint ofGuinness for a long time. Rooms basic and dogs allowed. Wush we brought hours. Decor is quirky downstairs in pub and even worse in bedroom but the facilities are there. I did not mind it upstairs, lived it downstairs.”

“The staff were helpful at check-in. I had a double room. The bed was comfortable. Each guest got a biscuit and square of chocolate. There was a selection of teas, coffee bags and hot chocolate. There was an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe. The room was very warm. There was an issue with the cleaning. There was hair in the bath and the wall mirror in the bedroom was dirty. The curtains were dirty. I used the pedal bin in the bathroom and the lid fell off missing my foot. The pedal bin lid...
