Went down for dinner and it was a bit chaotic, waited an hour and a half for desert, had to ask three times at the bar. We asked if it could be brought up to the room and and was told they would check with the chef. Waited another 15 minutes to be told yes they are already doing that? Went to the room, ran and had a bath and still no desserts! Went down and asked for a refund. Not long after a knock on the door no desserts, we had been charged twice!
We got to bed found that the bar noise was very very loud, both the bedroom and bathroom. You can hear the pub door open and close everytime which gets annoying after a while. I found myself wide awake at 1am and the initial fear as all I could smell was smoke. There are a lot of open fires in the pub so once they die out, it creates the post fire smoke. I tried to go back to sleep but the smell was quite strong. I ended up putting the towels at the bottom of the door and opening the windows. It wasnt ideal considering it was snowong earlier on. So unfortunately I only managed a few hours of sleep that night. Breakfast was included and it is an order at the bar service, the food was good you get a small choice of menu items and there is cereal, juices and jams on the bar. All in all the stay was ok but for the suite I paid for, for a special occasion, I half wished that I hasn't of bothered. Shame really.
