Beautiful home, responsive host
We had a wonderful time at this gorgeous property. The host was very responsive to questions. The home is very much as represented in the photos - we especially enjoyed the sauna, gym and hot tub as well as the views out the back windows. The cookware in the kitchen was good quality (no peeling/damaged Teflon pans like you find in many rentals). An unexpected bonus was the radiant floor heating, which was very nice since we were there in winter. The home is close to plenty of amenities and attractions (grocery stores, restaurants, ATM, Niagara Falls, wineries) but still feels nestled away from it all. The only issues we had were probably with the VRBO website, which misrepresented the charges. It automatically added an extra person fee even though we were well under the maximum occupancy limit; the host did remove this fee. Additionally, the nightly rate we were quoted through the search was lower than the actual nightly rate so make sure to confirm the rate with the host before you decide.

Checked in at 4pm.Easy, door code access.Home has beautiful curb appeal.VRBO is also listed as for sale. List said useable hot tub, electric fireplace for use, sauna & weight lifting unit.Days before arriving, owner said hot tub was faulting & may or may not work then said all fixed should be fine with no problems.Nothing but problems ensued our first night.2 injuries on back patio-wear shoes.The hot tub? electricity shorted out after ten minutes of use, after playing maintenance man & flipping the breaker with permission, it worked again- for five or so minutes.So frustrating we couldn’t even relax in the “private zen” home. The hot water also didn’t work & we had to play maintenance man again & reset the water heaters electrical (also for a short out code) before we could even enjoy the hot water.The house does have heated floors, beautiful views of the woods, built into a hill, views of wildlife & a beautiful deck & kitchen area to get together with family.Too bad we couldn’t enjoy the hot tub on those 30-45F days/evenings.The electric fireplace in the tv room did not work & we were told it needed a battery but one was never dropped off for us. The universal tv remotes for the tv room, lower level living room space & master bedroom did not work on the tvs, likely battery issues too but hidden original remote worked for 2 tvs.Never figured out the cable/satellite tv feature but Amazon live tv worked.Still had fun with what we had & enjoyed our time there.

Wonderful Thanksgiving Getaway!
We had an incredible Thanksgiving stay at the Private Zen Oasis! This peaceful retreat nestled in the Short Hills was the perfect escape for our family. The spacious home, with its cozy bedrooms and luxurious primary suite, provided unmatched comfort. We loved cooking in the gourmet kitchen while taking in the stunning forest views. The outdoor amenities, including the hot tub and fire pit, made for relaxing evenings under the stars. Darryl & Sheri were fantastic hosts - responsive and incredibly helpful, ensuring everything was perfect for our stay. Proximity to wineries and nature trails added to the experience. A true gem—Highly recommend!
