Charming home in a great location!
We had a wonderful stay and loved how close this home was to the town and the river. The only thing I would note is that, because the home is nestled in some beautiful trees, it doesn’t get much light during the day. Which was fine for us because we were out and about anyway!

Perfect hideaway
Just gorgeous. We stayed a couple of days before a friend’s wedding. 30 minutes to the coast, 30 minutes to wine country, 15 minutes from Armstrong State Park. The stairs may seem daunting but if you’re able it’s also such an attractive feather of the house. It’s an older house with all the charm you could want. Nothing like a morning hot tub soak in the quiet of a redwood forest.

Beautiful Place in a Perfect Location
The place is in a gorgeous hillside, is well-furnished and is handsomely decorated. It's extremely comfortable and has everything you need. The location is perfect to explore Guerneville and surrounding areas - so many fun adventures within a few minutes drive. Highly recommend. Property managers were quite helpful and responsive. A++.

Redwoods!
The house is in a beautiful location amongst the redwoods. Sitting on the top floor deck you're basically up in the trees. Same with the hot tub deck. The kitchen and bathrooms are recently remodeled which is nice. There are a LOT of stairs which they are clear about in the description. They're steep and carrying our stuff up and down wasn't fun but the view and feeling of being in a treehouse was 100% worth it. There isn't a very comfortable place to sit and relax inside but the multiple outside decks with seating are amazing, though the decks themselves could use some help. Rachel was great to communicate with and made it easy. She even checked in with us when she thought the power might be out in the neighborhood. We really enjoyed our stay. Overall we give it 5 stars

Delightful Retreat
At the top of a stairway among the redwoods pines rests the property, like a treehouse. It was tidy with a great kitchen and wood burning stove. The master bedroom was wonderful and the bed seemed new. A hoy=t tub off the back porch was easy to use and just right. Its a gem

Great location near Russian River
We didn't get to stay at this place because the Glass fire started the day before we were supposed to check in. Rachel was extremely responsive to all our questions and very understanding of the situation to allow us to cancel. We would love the opportunity to stay at a future date.

I had heard so many wonderful things about this property and I was very much looking forward to staying there during my trip to Guerneville. Unfortunately, the wild fires caused me to change my plans so I can’t comment on the property personally. However, I can say that the property owners – while dealing with the fear of the approaching fires and evacuation – stayed in close touch with me and were very understanding and willing to work with me on the cost I had already paid. I feel for what they must be going through and in the future, would go out of my way to rent from this owner if the property is available. I highly recommend this property, not just because of its charm, but also based on the graciousness and kindness of the owners!

Trees!
It was a very rustic place but with very new amenities. I forgot to count the stairs, but there were many stairs. We really enjoyed the trees surrounding us, it’s a beautiful new hot tub. The second bedroom is pretty small, but we didn’t need it.

Feels like you're living in a trees house
Our stay at the Shady lady was perfect! The house was very spacious, we had plenty of room for 4 people. I think this is the biggest couch I've ever seen, they weren't joking when they said two people could comfortable sleep on it. While there are a lot of stairs to get into the house it's totally worth it because then it looks and feels like you're in the redwood canopy. I was worried about not having AC with forecast in the high 90's but the house keep very cool all the time.

Chill escape
Really a good size for the three of us. One of these very typical quaint century old Guerneville properties with slightly sloping uneven floors, creaking wood structure and funky layout. Owners have updated the place to provide modern conveniences expected by city folks coming up for the weekend — not stingy with supplies. Lots of towels, BBQ had gas, some nespresso capsules. Unlike some Airbnb I’ve used there was a good supply of wine glasses, utensils, all cabinets labeled. Most vitally for us, with daily zoom calls, the Internet was broadband and consistent. This part of Russian River has atrocious phone signal so good working wifi is a must. Being near the river meant mosquitos in the evening so we were not able to enjoy the veranda for long after dinner, before retreating inside. Some citronella candles might have helped there. There are 72 steps up to the man level from the street below so not for the faint hearted. Nights are quiet save some distant dog barking, you are near the main road but quite high above it and the Double paned windows do a good job filtering noise. Views are limited to the surrounding woods and being snug against the hillside means not a huge amount of direct sunlight. Hot tub is for two, three at a stretch. Overall a good base for a small family from which to explore sonoma and RR.
