Here is the actual email that my family on to send to VRBO on day 3 of our stay (which they gave us a case # for.)Following our recent phone conversation, I am writing to formally address several serious issues with the property we reserved through VRBO. Upon arrival, it became immediately clear that the condition of the home does not align with what was advertised in the listing and several aspects of the property present clear health and safety hazards. There is visible MOLD inside the house, along with holes in the flooring, stairs and ceiling. These conditions are both dangerous and unacceptable. Additionally, the pool is in extremely poor condition. The water is murky and visibly unsafe. After testing, we confirmed that the pH levels are off and there is no chlorine in the water making it unusable for my family.I reached out to the host promptly requesting that the pool be cleaned and properly shocked to make it safe and functional during our stay, but I have not received any response. This lack of communication is unacceptable and falls far short of the standard expected when booking a property through a platform you pay a service fee for. This experience was deeply disappointing! This was my family’s 17th year renting homes for our annual family vacation, and the first year to find a home in such a deplorable condition. VRBO was sent all pictures of these hazards.
