We booked this house during July 4th weekend for a last minute extended family trip. If you want ann authentic New England experience, this house is perfect. Built in the 1800s, it is charming while being exceptionally well-managed and maintained. The house is spacious, making it ideal for large families to gather. The bedrooms are generous in size, beautifully furnished, and the beds are very comfortable. With two bedrooms conveniently located on the lower floor, it's perfect for guests who prefer not to climb stairs.
The modern kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenities needed for a week-long stay. The bathrooms are clean and stocked with essentials, charming clawfoot tubs with showers that add to the house's character. The dining room has a large table, perfect for accommodating a sizable group.
Outdoor amenities include a fire pit, steam room, and hot tub, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. The location is ideal, with several hiking spots just a 15-minute drive away. Our extended family had a wonderful time and only wished we had an extra day to enjoy it even more.
A couple of suggestions for improvement:
Extend the checkout time by an hour. A 10 am checkout is a bit early, especially for teenagers who tend to sleep in.
Fix the lock on the downstairs bathroom.
