I hate to leave a bad review, but there are some things folks should know before reserving and some things the owners could improve.
The location is fantastic! By far the best location in town.
The biggest issue and why we would not stay again is the beds/layout. We were two couples and two teenagers. One couple had the room with the queen, which was fine, but the double on the same floor is small and the nightstands are right up against the bed. This shouldn't be a complaint because it is accurate to the description, but know that it's a double (not a full) and a very tight fit for two adults. The pull-out downstairs, which is the same as the one upstairs, is two separate slide-outs (smaller than twins). The teens each took one side and were ok, but no way two adults could sleep there comfortably.
Not a huge issue but be aware that the kitchen is on the 3rd floor, so the load in is a long haul.
The house has lots of extras but was missing basics: In a house that sleeps 8, there were 5 dinner plates and 5 forks. Not a single dish towel, no foil, no salt & pepper. But the real issue came when the power went out. Totally not their fault (all of Govy lost power), but the house had one TINY flashlight and some tealight candles. No lanterns, no real flashlights, no snow shovel. The fireplace is electric, so no heat w/o power. The neighbor lent us a shovel so we could leave after a night w/o heat, but how do you have a winter cabin w/ no preparedness amenities?
