We chose a middle of the week time frame for our anniversary trip hoping for a peaceful, chill stay and Green Springs did not disappoint. Beautiful, tranquil setting with anything you could possibly need just a few minutes drive away, but you'd never know it was so close walking the grounds of the estate. The cottage, Summer Kitchen, was clean and comfortable. It wasn't spotless nor was everything in it shiny and new. It was homey and worn and made you feel like you could relax. The owners were quick to respond to us. The grounds were made for walking and we took advantage of that walking the tree lined driveway each morning. We did the short hike to the old plantation cemetery one afternoon and would have been happier if it had been kept up. Instead it had many tree limbs around the bricked walls and piles of bricks where the walls have succumbed to nature. The actual cemetery is sadly overgrown. There is a beautiful swimming pool but the weather was too chilly for us to go swimming. The amenities inside the cottage are plentiful, offering everything you could need. We felt safe on the grounds.
And lastly, the cats!! We are cat people and Charlie and Carson are people cats. They made our stay so enjoyable, choosing to stay inside with us whenever we were there.
It was a good choice of lodging for us and we'd definitely book with Nico and Kim again.
