From the moment we walked in the door, we were impressed with this charming, cozy cabin/home. The photos online don't do it justice--it's not as rustic as you'd expect. From stained glass windows, beautiful hardwood floors, comfortable furniture, modern appliances, genuine crystal stemware, fully stocked kitchen with all necessary cookware and utensils, very comfortable beds with high quality linens and duvets, interesting book selection, plenty of dried and split firewood, TVs in every bedroom, and an ample supply of plush towels, there are pleasant surprises at every turn. There's even a piano in the living room, and a Yamaha ATV for guests to use!
The location was terrific for us. Although it's a 1/2 mile up a winding road off the main road between Glenwood Springs and Sunlight Ski Resort, which could be tricky if there were a heavy snowfall (unfortunately, there was very little new snow during our ski week), the road is well-maintained. The cabin is a short 10-minute drive to Sunlight, and about 15 minutes to Glenwood Springs for groceries, libations, restaurants, the hot springs, and 'most anything else you'd need.
And then there's the view: the grandeur of Mt. Sopris looms at the far end of a scenic valley, and the night sky is awesome. The thoughful owners even provide a telescope for guests to use. Imagine that!
