Family of eight adults and three kiddos stayed in this home. The space of the rooms, living room, kitchen and dinning area was good and everyone fit comfortably. It’s the small cosmetic things that could boost this place up such as new couches, new mattresses, repair some of the flooring that has tape on them to hold them down in the game room, replacing shower heads that looked to have mold on it such as the one in the master bath upstairs. The kitchen did have small sugar ants crawling around and the back yard especially around the pool had lots of ants as well. If you’re turned off by some of those small cosmetic things then maybe this house isn’t for you but if you can deal with it then you’ll be okay. The pool was cleaned on the second day we were there and the water felt great. Would I stay here again or recommend to family and friends, possibly if some of those things could be fixed.

House was not clean or safe for the amount of money we paid for. The steps from outside patio to pool are unsafe for any age. Cleanliness was not a priority, and fumagating is a must with ants found in bedroom. Issues have already been submitted to rental property management.

Very disappointed! This property is located in a great location but it is not a good property to rent unless improvements are made. Check-in was smooth but upon arrival trash receptacles with lots of stinky trash as you approach the entrance to the front door. We did send a message and they came and moved the trash to the street.Kitchen facilities terrible. Ants everywhere in the kitchen. They got in our food in the pantry and all over the cabinets. Items that were listed as available were not available as stated such salt & pepper, etc. We requested maintenance to bring spray but they did not ever bring it.Flooring needs to be fixed. Planks warped and sticking up….dangerous and a fall hazard.Fire alarms went off at 10:30 pm the second night we were there due to low batteries . No batteries available on the property and no ladder to change the batteries. My husband (65 years) had to climb in a bar stool to replace the battery so we could make it stop. We had to go to the store and purchase them at 11:00 pm. Broken faucet in master bath, washer was broken and had a comforter and sheets inside that the cleaning team left in water because the washer would not drain, none of the wall Clocks had batteries in them so they did not work, microwave light did not work, pool filter was not working properly so pool was dirty.We paid a lot of money to stay there and all they would say when you called them was “send us a photo regarding the issue”.

It was a nice place. It does need some updates and repairs. The flooring need to be redone in some places, we couldn’t use the bath tub because one of the handles was broken off, but there were showers, however the water pressure wasn’t good in the master bathroom. Other than that, it served its purpose for us!

Galveston Fun in the Sun

This property was perfect for our family of 16, there was plenty of space for all of us. The place was tidy and clean. The kids enjoyed the pool and the game room very much! The location of the place is close to everything, but far enough from the busyness, which was great!! The host was amazing kept us well informed of house rules and regulations. Check in and out was easy. Thank you for hosting us and allowing us to make lasting and meaningful memories!!

The pictures are not accurate in terms of cleanliness and beautiful put together house. However, the space description is accurate. The house needs work and I won’t ever rent a house again from Beach Box Management Company. The kitchen cabinet door are falling off. Everything is sticky. The floor is taped together. The dishwasher is about to fall out of its hole. Sink disposal back dirty water into dishwasher. One of the bedroom door is falling off door jam. Plug shower drain in upstairs bathroom. Damaged Sheetrock all over. Back porch boards uneven/slashed rotten. Good location and great piece of property. And very spacious for a large group. For the amount of money they are renting this house for, they aren’t investing in the bettering the house. Pool was murky and sandy. I sent photos the first day and no response. We had to fill up the pool to get the pumps to work. Broken chair in pool area.

I would rate this place a 5/10. Pros - nice pool, a 5 minute drive to the beach which you can pay 15 to drive up on for the day, game room which the kids loved. Bedding and towels were clean before use. Property management company was easy to get in contact with. Cons - located off a busy road so you are NOT allowed to rent a golf cart for the house, I wish this would have been more obvious in the listing. The house is a bit beat up and run down, you can tell they do not care much about keeping it in pristine condition. The floor was coming up in some places, even held together by tape in the game room. The cabinets, paint on the walls, and furniture are beat up a bit. Some of the kitchen stuff provided wasn’t clean, we had to clean everything before use. Located off a busy road so if you have littles you have to worry about, make sure that front door is locked. Driveway is really steep as well. Overall, the house served its purpose for the weekend but I would not want to stay here again for the amount of money spent, we could have found something better taken care of and in a better location.

House of as clean, there was a smell of sewer in laundry room. Dishwasher was full of stinky water, responded about sending out maintenance but my sons fixed it and we had no other issues. Kids loved the pool and game area.

Family getaway

Check in was easy. Location was great. Away from the craziness of the hotel area, the beach was a quick 2 minute drive, and shopping and restaurants were just ten minutes away. There was plenty of room for us all to be comfortable.

Great vacation

House in a great location. Away from the city but a short drive to the city. Beach access 7 about a mile away and has free parking and beach access. Big beach area. House is spacious and enjoyable. Pool great though it would have been nice if it was heated. A third shower in the house would have been nice.

Misleading

The property was ran down, unkept, filthy and over a huge disappointment. The furniture was all broken or so stained covered that no one wanted to sit on it. The towels provided were stained and gross. The flooring in the bathrooms and converted garage/gamer room were warped and lifting, creating, tripping hazards and gaping. The pool was dirty, as was the pool decking. It was covered in bird poop. The chairs by the pool were thrown about and broken. The cabinets in kitchen would not close or stay closed. The drive way had several ant hills along the length of the drive way. A couple of the guests were bitten by th trying to get in and out of vehicles. It was the worst rental I have stayed in. I have pictures to show everything I listed.

Spring Break in Galveston

My family stayed in this house for a week in early April 2025. We were first disappointed by a few things: the house was not cleaned very well, with visible dust on countertops and refrigerators and some spiders and webs in the game room. There are sections oft eh flooring that is peeling up and literally taped down so that should be replaced. We also had to request for plugs for the 2 bath tubs so our kids could use them. The owner did send the plugs and some other supplies that were missing as soon as we requested though, so communication was great. The location of the house is excellent, in a quiet part of Galveston away from busy streets and loud neighbors. The pool was unheated, but felt amazing even in April. There were plenty of beds and sleeping opportunities which we enjoyed very much. The game room was a huge hit with the younger kids even if the arcade games were hard to play for them. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the house!

Good times in Galveston

Overall, it met our needs and we really enjoyed our time in Galveston. Pros: Great location. Close to everything and just a short drive to the water. It was nice to have a separate TV in the game room for the kids. The pool was wonderful. Nice patio area around it, ledges around the sides to sit and enjoy the sun. Second fridge/freezer by front door was great for drinks and extra ice. Gas range and dining room was nice to cook and entertain. Plenty of plates, cups and silverware. We used the grill and enjoyed the high top chairs on the back deck. The weather was great so we never had to adjust the air conditioning but there were ceiling fans in the bedrooms which was nice. Comfortable beds. Very comfortable couch and tv with lots of options. Came with plenty of toilet paper, garbage bags, coffee and filters. Cons: Awkwardly steep driveway. Can’t park a vehicle at the top and easily get out so we just parked towards the bottom. No working light on the front of the house. This became difficult when door dashing at night. Has a distinct “musky” smell but we got used to it and attributed it to the proximity to the beach. The flooring was in pretty rough shape. Lots of curled up edges and cracks which, in the upstairs bathroom, became a tripping hazard. While the kitchen was well stocked, there was no broom or basic cleaning supplies.. We had to go buy them. You can’t really go a week without sweeping at a beach house. Only two kitchen towels and no hot pads The wood on the

The listing failed to say their was mold all in the upstairs bathroom. The peel and stick vinyl floorin was coming up. Upstairs shower had previous peoples hair and some type of red goop on the wall. I also got pink eye while there which ive never had before in my life. There was no cleaning supplies to even spot clean. The game room was filthy. The corners had dead spiders and cob webs. Flooring was horrible. There are these indentations in the wall almost like a step, well there is a piece that runs along the edge of the step, it came clean off when i set a suit case on it. ...luckily it popped right back on. Thankfully were there for just two nights. I hope they take more pride in thier rental becaue it could be really.nice if it was maintained correctly and to a higher standard. ..
