My wife and I stayed in a Vrbo property in Sedona at Christmas 2022. We booked this Galveston beach Vrbo property for April 2023. We did not know that the Galveston beach property was manager by Vacasa. When were arrived one of the toilets would not flush, the oven door was broken, the handle on the exterior of the patio door to the balcony was broken and attached by only one screw and the two electric recliners had their plugs cut off so that they could not be connected to power. The number of towels, wash cloths and rolls of toilet paper were not consistent with the number of people booked to stay at the property. When we called Vacasa, we were told that our concerns would be referred to the "local team". We asked when we could expect to hear from the "local team" and were told no estimated time was possible. We asked for a direct phone number to contact the "local team" but was refused this information. We continued to call and text Vacasa the first evening with no meaningful results. We finally received a call from a Vacasa maintenace tech around noon the 2nd day. We weren't informed that he was enroute or a schedule for his visit, so our plans were held hostage by Vacasa scheduling incompetence. While the Vacasa tech was able to fix some of the issues, the ability to enjoy our visit to Galveston was diminished by the failure of Vacasa to demonstrate any effort at proactive property management. We will NEVER stay at a property managed by Vacasa again.
