Beautiful week in February
A very large, clean and comfortable apartment. Amazing views of Funchal and cruise ship harbour. I must add a car would be helpful unless you’re into hill walking, as we are. We didn’t have a car but did walk into Funchal on four occasions took about half an hour and a little longer on the return as uphill. I would highly recommend a stay here but with a car unless hardy walkers. The small shop up the hill by the church was enough for our needs and nearby restaurant was excellent. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your amazing apartment. Ron and Mandy.

Lovely flat, but….
Too isolated from restaurants and the action. We are not party animals by any stretch but as a self catering unit you need to bring everything including serviettes. The view is amazing but unless you want to drive steep hills to get a cup of coffee in the morning this is not the place. Mosquitoes and no screens are a problem. WiFi was a puzzle to log onto and once on, intermittent.

One of the few places I have stayed where the photo was true!!
Excellent property, clean and everything that you need for a great stay. Quiet, comfortable and great views. Asked for a late checkout as our flight was in the evening and they happily obliged. Recommend a car as the roads are steep in Madeira and getting up to the village centre tested us! Thank you Louis.

Quiet, Spacious, Well maintained and located
We 2 stayed here mid of may 2018 for 2 weeks. The lot is very spacious and well maintained by Ana and Toni, the owners. There is nothing we can complain about. The balconies are not too wide so taking a sunbath there is a bit difficult, but you can go downstairs and get a chair and sunbath anywhere in the garden. We had a car for the whole time so we were quite mobile. If you are not, up the Streit there is a Bus stop from where you take the Bus into Funchal, just a 10min walk. A bit steep though but that is quite common on Madeira. Luis, the host, was immediately helpful when we ran out of gas for the shower. Just took him 20minutes to get us warm water again. He is always quite responsive and I can only thank him for that. Long story short: See the pictures, they dont lie and decide to stay here. You wont regret it at all. Just a personal note to Ana, Toni and Luis: We enjoyed, chatting with you. Stay as you are, never never change... All the best for the future.

Top Floor Apartment in Sao Goncalo, Funchal
It was a special time for my wife and I to celebrate her birthday. The apartment was located down a steep hill but offered the most stunning view of the Funchal Bay and Harbour. The accommodation was large although the space was difficult to heat in the cooler evenings. However, Luis was brilliant in getting us a space heater for those evenings when we dined alfresco or wanted to watch some television. The internet was excellent as was the mobile signal. A small shop up the steep hill and opposite the church was great for day-to-day needs but a 2 euro trip into Funchal only took about 10 minutes for more shops and sight-seeing. There was a lovely walk to Funchal down the hill where you came to the Old Fort on the edge of the Old Town and some great restaurants for just a drink, snacks or something more substantial. Our holiday was cut short, unfortunately, due to a medical emergency but, again, the excellent assistance from Luis made the disappointment of leaving early easier for my wife and I. We will want to come back as soon as possible. The apartment is a little gem and well worth the effort in navigating the steep roads. It's a very quiet area and the bread man comes around in his van every day with fresh bread and cakes to buy. We're looking at the calendar now for our return! San and Dave

Spacious apartment, great views
Apartment is very large, but the balconies are small, so can't lie out on them. The manager luis is a gem - Very helpful and friendly. Thanks so much for your help. The apartment is quite a bit out of Funchal, and we haired a car to compensate for that - the hills up the bus are Very steep, and for elderly people not used to it, a bit of a stugggle. It would have been nice to have a book in the appartement with more info on how to work the TV - no English channels although there were supposed to be because the internet signal was too weak - just kept buffering,

Apartment in Sao Goncalo Funchal
The apartment was very spacious with a large living area and two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bed could have been a little bit softer but we coped😀.There were great views of the sea and Funchal from two of the balconies. The area is very hilly so we got plenty of exercise walking to the bus stops making use of the local buses into the city. The local restaurant Zarcos was very good and the staff were really friendly.

Excellent home away from home and holiday location
We had a most enjoyable holiday at this holiday apartment. The apartment is in an excellent position with a wonderful sea view. With it having three balconies you can get shade all day long if that is what you want. The apartment has everything you need. The apartment is located in a residential area a few kilometers away from Funchal. You get the local bus which comes every 30 mins for a few euros into Funchal. The taxi services are plentiful, reliable and very cheap. We got the bus into town each day and got the taxi home. The Manager Luiz was kind enough to take us to the supermarket on arrival which I think was beyond his job description. This was very much appreciated. We will definitely be returning to this premises in the future.

Tolle Wohnung mit traumhaftem Blick
Die Wohnung ist sehr hell, freundlich und großzügig geschnitten. Die Ausstattung sowohl der Küche als auch der übrigen Wohnung ist sehr gut und gepflegt. Wir wurden von Louis Carvalho sehr freundlich begrüßt und er kümmerte sich zuverlässig um unser Wohlergehen. Die Urlaubswoche ging viel zu schnell vorbei und wir waren sicherlich nicht das letzte Mal in dieser schönen Wohnung.

Spacious accommodation with great view.
The apartment was large, even the 2nd bedroom was spacious and all rooms were well furnished and clean. The kitchen had a new large fridge/freezer and a gas stove with an electric oven. The hot water is via a gas boiler in one of the kitchen cupboards which was ok once we had found it and turned it on. I have suggested to the manager that a leaflet setting out basic information re: heating, rubbish disposal would be helpful.The area was very quiet and the views were as good as they were shown in the photos, a taxi cost 8 euros into Funchal. You could get a bus, about 300metres away but it was a steep slope (approx. 1 in 4) to the bus stop. You can walk to Zarcos' restaurant which has good food and wine, although not an extensive menu, again the walk is up to the main road, easier on the way back. They also did takeaway food which we enjoyed.
