First of all, I have to say that the location of the house and the space it offers were perfect. It was a quick walk to the beach with easy access. It was also the perfect space for our party. There were enough beds, and the common spaces were nice for hanging out and playing games. The kitchen was a little small, but it still served its purpose well. The outside balconies and outdoor shower were great. The bedding was comfortable, and there were extra sheets and pillows that were useful.
However, there were a few cons. The description says waterfront, but I didn't consider it waterfront. You can't really see the water or the lighthouse as mentioned in the description at all. You can see a little tiny bit of the water (but not the lighthouse) if you go on the 3-story balcony off the loft, but if you go out there, then I would be careful because it does not seem safe at all. It seems unsteady and rickety.
That's part of the other issue. The house swayed a lot when people were walking around or going up and down the stairs. It wasn't just a little; it was very noticeable. Perhaps that is needed for weather reasons, but it felt a little unnerving at times. There were a couple of cracks on the living room ceiling and on one of the living room walls (that crack was covered with white paint), and that unnerved my wife, who was concerned the house was having foundation issues.
In addition, the place is definitely a throw back to the 90s. It's very outdated and could use a few updates with blinds, paint, carpet, etc. Some of the blinds didn't even work or were falling apart. The vertical blinds on the sliding doors also need some work. The "stocked kitchen" could also a little work on updating things and adding a few other need items. It smelled a little musty, but that may just be age. I do wish there had been a few extra towels, and the sheets were not on the bunk beds when we came in. They were on the other beds but not the bunk beds. Also the pool was closed, which really stinks because it was still very warm when we were there, and we could have used the pool.
Overall, I would probably stay there again because of the space and location, but it does need some definite updates, and the description needs to be a little more true to the waterfront/lighthouse view.
