Every vacation home we're rented has included a book with instructions, rules, recommendations -- except this one. There were 9! bags of trash on the floor of the garage from previous renters, and NO instructions on what to do with our trash. This is bear country, so this is kind of important. There was also a shortage of towels: Only one hand towel and one washcloth in the entire place. At least one pillow case smelled strongly of women's perfume, which made us question whether the sheets had been laundered. I contacted Vacasa (who our reservation was made through) twice by phone about the trash issue. Both times was told the local management would be in touch, but I received no response. The kitchen could be outfitted a little better, but we made it work. On the plus side: the house itself is really great -- roomy, with several hangout spaces, great back yard with swings, a tree fort and fire pit area! What we thought was the advertised playhouse is actually a sauna we finally found the key to. (I guess the playhouse is the tiny log cabin shack near the driveway). Most of the beds were very comfortable. The location is lovely, close enough to Rocky Mountain National Park, and the fun towns of Winter Park, Fraser and Grand Lake. And one of our guests did catch a glimpse of a black bear!
