“Absolutely loved this quirky castle. The owners was so friendly and welcoming. Very knowledgeable about the castles history and did a personal tour which I loved. His love for the property showed so much in this tour. Breakfast was delicious and left nothing to ask for. Would stay here again. No complaints. ”

“I stayed overnight on Tues 20 May-Wed 21 May to meet friends on the morning of 21 May, to visit Montrose Museum & Art Gallery. I had booked lunch for 1.00pm in the hotel. Dinner, Breakfast and Lunch were all served very efficiently. Portions of food were generous.”

“We liked most things, it was well organised and little touches had been added to make one's stay as pleasant as possible. The owners were very friendly and told us about the surrounding area and even booked dinner for us at a local hotel. We would have preferred a larger bed but that was only a small point. ”

“Friendly, helpful staff. Room upgrade freely given when the first room was unsuitable due to lack of ventilation on sunny day. Breakfast was mostly good but could be a little disorganised (juice and milk running out, tables not fully laid etc.) and buffet was rather limited in range. However good choice of cooked items, well-presented.”

“After booking and paying found some scary reviews but we didn’t experience any of them. B/fast value £12 each, couldn’t finish mine, good coffee. Bar service good, busy outside seating area. Some noise o/n but to be expected as we were overlooking the High street. Could do with a little attention to detail in room, paper peeling from ceiling, curtains off track in few places. Parking off street available when checking in”
