This place was absolutely perfect for my husband and I for our week long winter getaway. Cozy and comfortable, though a bit on the warm side as there is a very powerful heater so make sure to pack a few tshirts for hanging around indoors. The stairs going up to the bedroom weren't as challenging as I thought they'd be. Very clean and well appointed, kitchen had all the essentials and then some. Comfortable bed and there's even a TV mounted on the ceiling above the bed. Great aurora viewing from all angles of the house, we watched from bed one night which was a plus when it was really cold. Also conveniently located to town (only 30 min), and across from Ski Land which is open a few days a week. We went over for lunch one day and another for a beer around the fire on the back deck. Amazing views all around, can't beat those morning sunsets over the mountains. Highly recommend staying here. If we ever venture back to Alaska, we would not hesitate to stay here again.
One thing to note: we pre-reserved a 4WD vehicle through Alamo to pick up at the airport on arrival. When we arrived, they asked where we were staying as they have certain highway restrictions. They refused to rent to us when I told them where we were staying, and told us all the other car rental companies at the airport use the same guidelines. I called Devin who was very responsive and kind who said this has never been a problem. We ended up renting a Jeep through Alaska 4x4 which was great but expensive.
