The tent was high quality made of thick canvas. I was really impressed with how clean it was inside - not a single bit of dirt on the floor. It rained one night but none ever made it inside. We were concerned about bugs and mosquitos but ended up being a non-issue since the tent zips up nice and tight. The fan in the tent was great. Aside from a couple of flies there were no bugs in the tent, and remained bug-free throughout the stay. There were surprisingly few mosquitos overall even outside.
The outdoor kitchen area has electricity along with running water with a sink and soap. Great for washing dishes and hands, though I would not drink it personally. Provided are paper towels, coffee maker with filters, dish drying rack, a few dishes and cutting board, and fire starter sticks. This is all housed under a canopy with zip up sides. There are two trash cans, one for recycle. Be mindful of trashing any food or smelly stuff as there are racoons and other critters that will try to get in there at night. If you have any stored food probably best to keep in your car.
The river access is very short walk (50-100ft) from our tent. There is a gravel beach area perfect for folding chairs and a cooler. The river itself is shallow in this area. My 6ft self had no problem walking all the way across. Deepest probably 4 ft or so. LOTS of fish and wildlife. Very clean river. Our 3 year old with floaties loved it. The current was minimal, but still there, so be careful with small children. Wake up early one morning and get down there to see the sun rise over the east hill - very special!
The hosts provided two crates of seasoned firewood and fire starters. We cooked both nights on the fire pit grill. They said they could provide more if requested but we had no need.
Thank your Carmen and Farar!
