If you get a room facing the beach it tends to get pretty noisy with the door open. Once you shut the door it's quiet though. Is a great hotel for families, they have everything you could possibly need for a day at the beach. Out of 3 trips to SD this was the best hotel experience I have had.
The area is probably one of the best areas to stay at as well. Close to SeaWorld and Seaport village.

Went for the Mexico vs Chile game! It took us over an hour to get in and we ended up missing half the game because they only had TWO gates open!!

They have escalators! We came for a concert and were told no purses bigger than the size of your palm could go in. If you had a ziplock bag or completely see-through purse you were allowed inside. We had to pay $20!!! for a locker.
