“Not cheap, but well worth the money - historical indulgence from a bygone age. I wanted to experience Kashmir as set down in 'The jewel in the crown' and got it. Mr Butt is on hand to brief you on all the boats' history and brief you on Srinagar and nearby places of interest. Kaka his cook come butler does the rest. - the food is simple but of high quality. I sensed Mountbatten, Nelsinho Rockfeller etc in the wood panel rooms..............what more could one want other than the unenviable clear...

“We booked for 3 rooms but the hotel oversold it’s rooms and we had three persons sharing one room… this is when rooms are pre paid! Moreover the lobby leaks during rains!”

“Good things: Staff were honest and well behaved. Whenever we needed anything,they would come and attend. Things not satisfactory: Bed height in our room was too low,approx 1.5 feet high, difficult to use especially if you have any elderly person with you. There is no lift . The complementary breakfast and food available is extremely limited,don't go by the extensive printed menu available in the room. The hotel would not provide any water,tea/coffee sachets unless it was asked for every...
