1st time to Emerald Isle….
I always read reviews and book accordingly. They’re pretty spot-on in their accuracy. KC Blue didn’t have any. Booking only two weeks out with a standard poodle in tow, you kind of just take what is available. This was that for us. I’m sure KC is owned by lovely people, so my suggestions are given with pure intentions. The place has deferred maintenance. And it was dirty. Calls were made and management sent a lovely husband and wife team out to re-clean the floors and sweep the carpets. Dog hair was literally laying in piles anywhere it could pool. The deck out back needed mushy/unsafe boards replaced, which Jose took care of the next morning. Dried and old (you can just tell) leaves were in corners of the patio. The patio furniture is old and rusty. The golf cart was out for servicing and wasn’t delivered until Monday. The living room furniture needs replaced. It’s very uncomfortable. But that was clearly depicted in their online pics. Now for the positive: that covered upper deck was a blessing, as we were down during Hurricane Debby!! And it overlooks the most gorgeous little pond. KC Blue is in a very lovely neighborhood, but since the golf cart isn’t allowed out on coast guard drive, you’re kinda left to just cruise the same area. We have a getaway, and even though we don’t rent our place, others in our resort do. I know cleanliness is a factor everywhere. Management should def pre-check before every renter to avoid poor reviews going forward.
