While the floors creaked with every movement, the woodwork and design has been well kept. The updated HVAC kept the house cool or warm as needed with the changes of the weather in the fall (warm during the day and windy/cool at night). While we read previous reviews, we came prepared with extra towels and extension cords. We did find extension cords in the bedrooms and towels were 1 bath and washcloth per person. Our only surprise were the showers - the main floor bath is a toilet and sink with the shower in the hallway/landing for the basement, needing to close 3 doors for privacy (a door to the main hallway and front door, the door to the back porch, and a kitchen door - all of which stuck or didn’t close properly). There was no place to hang wet towels nor set clothes in the bathroom areas, especially downstairs. The shower heads are low in both but the hot water was perfect. Blinds on every window were working. Plenty of seating in the living and dining room. Many kitchen and cookware options with 2 refrigerators and freezer above each. We brought our own cards/games but did find a puzzle. We didn’t watch tv but 1 small tv in the living room with many channels and the Wi-Fi worked throughout the house. We enjoyed the chairs on the front step though would be nice for access to more outside chairs. Definitely not a modernized house but we enjoyed the quirks and beauty! Perfect for our 6. Even 8-9 but up to 12 would be a tight fit.
