We had a few hiccups to start but considering it was Christmas with public holidays, I was really impressed with how quickly the owners handled any issues.
The house is nice and big, bright and airy, comfortable beds and 2 bathrooms with a separate toilet. Great entertaining deck, which was wonderful for christmas day. I enjoyed my morning coffee on the front porch and having a chat with friendly neighbours as the strolled past. The house is set well back from the road and the back yard is HUGE. It was a pleasant walk to the beach, coffee shops & shopping centre.
With our older children there, it was great having a second living area and so many options to spread out and for everyone to have time to themselves if needed.
The only 2 negatives, that I feel must be mentioned, is the fact the yard is described as "boasting a fully fenced yard", this is inaccurate. While the yard has secure fencing from the house and down both sides, the back fence is chicken wire which is flimsily supported, and patched at one end with corrugated tin, that had fallen down when we were there. We managed to get it upright but it was down again when we left. We had our two medium sized dogs with us and fortunately they aren't inclined to run off, but this might not work for others.
The other issue is the oven, which is very old and the door doesn't shut properly - we managed to keep it closed by leaving the grill door open which seemed to hold it shut. Again, we managed by using the BBQ mostly, and it certainly didn't ruin our holiday, but it might affect others.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it particularly for familys or large groups.
