Quiet and peaceful getaway
The property is on the water, in quiet woods. Deer wandered through 2 days. It was a very relaxing retreat for us. The property is not far from town bu off the main roads. We had a wonderful stay.

Peaceful getaway!
We came here for our honeymoon, we are an older couple, 49 & 50. We loved the rustic outdoorsy feel of the place. The lookout spot was fabulous, we spent hours both days of our trip sitting out there with blankets the owners provided. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was perfect size for the two of us and it was clean. We will definitely come back someday.

Rustic Cabin
This rustic cabin is set on the edge of Eastsound facing the sunrise. It's quiet and cozy. Loved sipping my tea and watching the sun rise over the mountain across Eastsound, ahhhhh.

Cabin In The Woods!
Great little cabin with a perfect view and location! We loved this place. Not fancy, but comfortable bed, great kitchen, and the view is spectacular! Our only complaint would be that the futons in the living room were not very comfortable to sit in. We will come back to this place again!

A hidden, rustic gem
We were a bit weary due to some past reviews of this cabin, but needed a spot last minute and this fit the location and price we were looking for. It did not disappoint!! If you’re expecting 5-star, luxury surroundings, you will be disappointed, because this is not that. But it was cozy and in the perfect location right near the water! The walking paths out to the water were absolutely adorable. The fire pit outside was so fun. The wood stove inside was also wonderful because it got kind of chilly at night (get extra firewood from store beforehand!). If you want a very cozy, minimal, simple spot to camp with a coupon or small family in a pristine location for an amazing price- this is your spot! The only things we wish this cabin had were bath mats for the floor in the bathroom, binoculars and possible a comfier mattress (we ended up sleeping on the softer couch fotons). The sulfur in the water was interesting… but not terrible- our hair has never been softer! And the water was always hot and lovely. Thank you!

Floors were dirty, musty smell, bungee cords in refrigerator, screw held door shut in shower…really? The owners can’t fix this Bed was really very hard and all the pillows were flat. The area was very beautiful and peaceful loved going down to the water every morning and watching the otters play.

We really do not like to give any negative feedback for the places we stay, but there are several issues with this property. First the smell from the water is not great, we had bottled water, so we used that for drinking. The microwave is only 700 watts and we found some food could not be cooked with a low wattage unit. Also we did not intend to watch a lot of TV, but in the evening and during bad weather it would be nice to have a TV that received more than 3 or 4 channels and they were religious programs and one Japanese Station and all of these were only on part of the time. The heat in the bedroom and bathroom was great, but the main room only had a small wall heater, which did not help much. There is a wood stove, but we were told that VACASA or the owners did not supply any firewood. (FYI, the national TV add for Vrbo shows the owner bringing a basket of firewood to the cabin) Also the bedroom carpet has a couple of ugly stains that should be cleaned. The mattress and pillows need replacing. Now the positive: This place has awesome views and a great deck (Weather permitting) to sit outside. The location is very quiet and not too far from the town of Eastbound. The towels and dishes were very nice. There is a DVD player, so if you want to watch anything be sure to bring your own. The VACASA Manager Luke Furnas was very helpful with our questions and requests. With just a little bit of work and improvements I would give this place 5 Stars gladly.

The View is Everything
It is appalling to pay top-dollar for this grubby, ill-equipped cottage. Only one small closet and dresser and both were filled with unneeded linens and towels. So no hanging or drawer space!!?? Really? The nasty rug in the BR needed vacuuming and a stain remover. In the kitchen-- dirty glassware, no vegetable peeler, no salad bowl, not a single sharp knife. Drawers filled with mismatched cutlery and useless utensils. Manager tried to help by delivering new dish towels and salad bowl . Thank you but that's not enough. The only good thing here was the view. It was fantastic!

Perfect quiet quaint ocean view getaway
This is a charming quaint property with lovely view of Eastsound. Nothing fancy - simple and rustic - but cozy and comfortable and a wonderful spot to explore from. We loved sipping our tea on the deck in the morning. Checking out the moonlight on the water from the lookout bluff at night, and tidepooling with our son. Was a perfect fit for the three of us - my 7 yo and I bunked in the bedroom and my husband made do with the futon but it’s a big soft mattress so he was perfectly comfortable. We had no issues with the sulfur in the water and found it very enjoyable for a shower. We did bring our own water to drink based on the reviews but it’s perfectly safe to drink the water here. It’s just a preference thing. Communication with property management was clear and easy and we had a lovely quiet getaway and would stay again!

Good and not so good.
We loved the house, view and basic comfort. However, we wish we had been told the water smelled of sulfur and even though it was drinkable we still bought 3 gallon bottles of spring water. It would have been nice if they had furnished at least one. Also, even though it was in the contract it would have been nice to have more toilet paper and a box of kleenex. The mattress is getting old and saggy. We were charged $12. for not taking the trash to the dump which we though unreasonable even though we put it in the barrel outside. Otherwise,we enjoyed our stay.

Nice location, but "rustic" is a euphemism
Sulferous water (so bring your own unless you like the taste of burnt matches), sofa and loveseat are uncomfortable, we couldn't find sheets to fit the bed, and the "seat" in the bedroom fell to the floor when any weight was put on it. The views from the windows are lovely, internet access was good, and the access to the beach is nice. The list of rules to follow is as long as your arm, though there were more amenities than expected (shampoo, soap, trash bags in the trash cans, etc.).

Peaceful retreat
Everything looks as described. The house is on a very quiet lot and the private beach is nice for a fire. Eastsound was only a 10 minute drive. Would recommend for a simple quiet stay and would stay there again.

very sweet
The house was perfect for two. Very clean, comfortable, lovely view. We saw deer each time we drove up. The view from the deck was beautiful, as was the rocky beach below the house. My only complaint is that that house smelled of cleaning fluid, which took a long time to air out, and do bring your own water if you don't like the taste of sulphur. We would definitely rent this again.

Very nice and relaxing
I loved the cabin and the area, there is plenty of sights to see and activities to do. Plenty of places to eat that are very good. Good local beers, Hiking, kyakking, fishing, boating etc. My only complaint is the payment process. I feel like it easily be simplified to a one time payment instead of three.

Just what it says on the tin
Great little cabin, beach access, quick drive to town, wifi. Worked just fine for the two of us for a weekend; would be a bit tight for more than 4 unless you got access to the loft w/two more futons. Don't recall opting in to the cleaning fee, which upped the price a bit--would probably have still opted in, but would have been nice to have the option.

Quaint and Quiet Retreat - Just What We Needed
The cabin lived up to my expectations. There were a couple of house keeping items we needed to take care of (making the bed and a little extra cleaning of the bathroom floor) which I anticipated that based on the description. The place is somewhat rustic but cozy with modern amenities. Sunrise at the shore was awesome and only a short walk from the cabin. Karen (the property manager) is super nice and easy to work with. The location is convenient to town and to the sites (Moran State Park/Mount Constitution to the east; Deer Harbor/West Sound to the west). I would definitely consider booking this property again.

Peaceful Retreat - Beautiful View
RESERVE your spot on the FERRY as soon as you can. Although we booked 3 weeks early, the only ferry available was the first run of the day, both coming and going - 6:45 a.m. Inconvenient since check-in is at 4:00 p.m. and leaving at 5:00 a.m. on the last day was a bummer. We had to ensure we were ready to go the night before since you have to drive into town to drop keys and then back-track to the ferry. Karen was very nice to work with. We went to the office when we arrived to get the keys, but they didn't open until 10:30, so we went exploring. There is no shortage of things to see and do on this magical island. We wandered back to town around noon and was delighted when we were told we could check in early. The cabin was the perfect size for the two of us. Cell phone service was poor, one bar and roaming. There is a little TV, but unless you want to shop, catch a sermon, or care to watch Tokyo, don't bother - no news. That of course, was not why we were here. The only reason we are not giving 5 stars is, the washing machine was broken and the only toilet paper was the one on the roll (didn't realize that until the last evening and stores were closed already). Also, in the contract where it discusses trash, it said a kitchen bag and a black bag would be provided, there were none. It may seem nit-picky, but it was important as we are scrambling to get packed and clean up for our early departure. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and walking down to the beach during low tide. There are starfish and little crabs, hummingbirds and eagles to watch. The view of the sound is breathtaking. We would definitely book again and can't wait to come back to this enchanted island.
