The cabin itself was beautifully decorated and impressive. As we checked in at the cabin at 6pm, my family and I found the cabin not as clean as anticipated. We found leftover food in the fridge and dishes in the dishwasher but started cooking dinner and unpacking for the evening. As we settled in we then encountered another problem upstairs. Two out of the four bedrooms had bedbugs. When we spoke to the owners, it was blamed on our corgis who never enter the rooms or slept on furnitures. The owners brushed it off as ticks that we brought in ourselves. We then contacted Vrbo who confirmed it was indeed bedbugs. The owner offered us to stay the night for free after driving 4 hours but we were packed and on our way out. We are disappointed and disgusted by the way this situation was handled especially by the owners when in July of 2024 had a similar complaint of having bedbugs. Family vacations don’t come often and we wished we had a better experience.
