First of all I contacted the emergency contact name and email, Leah Haapala, on Friday at 7:22pm after dealing with these issues on my first night. Although, this was not an emergency, I did expect to receive a response from someone that day, or on Saturday,
However, I heard nothing from anyone. As of Saturday, I called the #888 number associated to the property rental company and left a message regarding these same issues I checked in late on Thursday night, as my flight did not get in until after 9pm and we did not arrive here until after 11pm. Upon accessing the home, I was slightly disappointed with the cleanliness of the property. The outside had a well maintained lawn and very kept up but there was bird poop on all chairs, tables and the swing outside, which I would have expected to have been cleaned off prior to check in so that renters could enjoy the outside seating. When my mother and I walked into the home, there were moths everywhere. It appeared almost as if the property was cleaned months ago and had not had renters in it for quite a while, as it had been closed up for some time, hence the moths and the cabin. We spent a good portion of the remaining hours of the night and early morning, swatting moths to kill them from flying around and dive bombing us while sleeping.; a lot, not a few. In addition to the moths, there were spider webs/cob webs in almost every corner of the house, dead moths in the door tracks, and even crumbs left under the kitchen table. I am thoroughly disappointed in the price I paid and the lack of cleanliness of the home. There were even dead bugs/moths in the chandelier hanging in the main living area. Don't get me wrong, this home is in a very nice and quite neighborhood and in a prime location, is well furnished, and has all of the additional amenities that one could take advantage of.
However, I am saying that the cleanliness of the property leaves much to be talked about. As Saturday progressed forward, and we did not hear from anyone, we got home again late at night, and the same thing happened again. There are holes in the screens, which causes the bugs to continuously fly in. We spent hours, yes hours, trying to kill them all while trying to relax and get some sleep, since we did not sleep the night before. Saturday, Sunday and Monday night turned into the same...very few hours of sleep, while fighting off the moths flying in. In addition, the listing does not mention no AC. Unacceptable
