To their credit they gave me a room in the main house which was very nice. It was technically an up-grade and there was no charge. I would have like the solitude of the cottage, but I am not upset as I had a lovely time. You should most definitely get dinner. The food was exceptional. It was a wonderful base camp for Kilkenny and several other places. We loved Portlaoise and enjoyed several trips into town ( only a 10 minute drive) We loved their dogs and enjoyed spending time getting to know them. ( Our choice, they are very respectful of privacy) I absolutely recommend their place 100%!!”

“This was a very lovely house, however there was an oil leak with a VERY STRONG ODOR !! This odor gave me a headache. The owner was aware of this problem because her son came over shortly after we arrived, said that they would get someone out to repair it but after 4 nights it was not repaired.. The electric tea kettle had so much red liquid sediment in it I was afraid to use it .. The liquid hand soap dispenser was almost empty in the bathroom. No extra toilet paper was provided.”

“We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Ballycumber House. Connie is wonderful and took great care in showing us around the house and property. I’d highly recommend the stay and be sure to head down to Gussies for a pint or two. Thank you Connie!”

“Cottage rural però aprop del poble, ben situat al centre de l'illa. La casa és com un museu d'antiguitats i art local, potser una mica saturat. Té tot el necessari per una estada d'una o dues setmanes. Els propietaris molt amables i simpàtics.”

“We just spent ten days in this rental and were very pleased with all of the amenities as well as the location and quietness of the neighborhood. Great spot, close to pubs and other activities and away from the hustle and bustle of big city life. We would definitely rent again!”

“The Meadow View Farmhouse was a dream come true. Eamonn was an awesome host. He met us at the house with a wealth of information about the area and even booked us a visit to a local castle viewing. The attention to detail that he has put into refurbishing this old farmhouse is phenomenal. The views surrounding the house were spectacular! We even got to experience a local farmer moving his cattle from one pasture to another on the road in front of the house. A true Irish gem and we will...

“We really enjoyed this cottage. It was exactly as listed. So cozy and felt like home. Our host was lively and we loved the town. We enjoyed several meals at Giltrap Pub. Mattresses are still the kind with springs which was not a great fit for our backs but the rooms and duvet covers were just great!! Nice shower and bathroom. Overall, I’d recommend this cottage to all. We were able to make several day trips East and South. Great location if your renting a car. Thanks a million.”

Nice hotel with comfortable rooms

"That is an excellent hotel with a nice facilities. It's a very comfortable hotel, the best option for a relax. The whole complex is so large that you will need time, some times a bit chaotic to find the rooms. Rooms are quite and nice. The breakfast is not according to the rest of the hotel (but acceptable). I will repeat for sure."
