“We were looking for a quiet, out in the country place to celebrate our anniversary and came across this quaint cabin just outside Monterey, VA. The cabin is cozy, and it worked well for just the two of us. We took advantage of the hot tub which was very well maintained. We also lit up the firepit on another evening while watching the moon rise over the hills. The cabin is just a few minutes from Monterey (which sits in the valley just below the cabin.) Monterey is a small but interesting town...

“Although we appreciated being upgraded to a two-bedroom on the top floor - much better views of the unexpected snowfall, it would have been helpful to know that nothing in the hotel or surrounding area was open.....no breakfast, no restaurants. Frozen pizza from the Dollar General and Subway footlongs at the gas station were all we had to eat. The property was very nice, though. Clean, quiet, and comfortable. Our newly remodeled room was very roomy and well-kept.”

“Problems with the unit: 1) The toilet backs up continuously. Even is just urine, from day one. 2) The bathroom sink faucet is clogged and sprays all over the place. 3) The cover on the light in the ceiling fan is missing 4) some drawers are off tracks 5) dishes were greasy 6) The pots and pans are very disorganized 7) We were never told about cards for hot tubes. We had to drive down to figure it out. 8) The couch is not fit to sleep on!! 9) The ancient stove should be replaced. Burners...

“The place was super cute and extremely clean! Love that when we walked in they had the blinds opened and we could see the slopes! Amazing location to the tubing park and to the slopes! We loved the shuttle service to the village! We even had a chance to use the pool too! Definitely saving the listing to plan another trip for the next season!”
