We had to leave a day early because of how bad it was, and we can't get a response from the property owner about the issues we had, or our requested refund.
We have stayed on the same property before, but in a different unit (units are individually owned on this property). Upon checkin, it was clear that the unit was not represented properly in the photos or descriptions. The bathroom was clean, as far as the sink/toilet/tub are concerned, and the floors seemed clean enough. It is clear that the cleaning crew is hired to do a hotel-style clean, and it appears that they did that. The rest of the unit, however, is severly lacking and the condition is not represented in the listing. The beds have very old, dingy, cheetah quilts that did not seem clean and were not like the linens in the photos. The walls are textured and over the bed by the window there are dust balls stuck to the wall all the way up to the ceiling. The ceiling fan had so much dust, we were afraid to turn it on. The amount of dust wreaked havoc on my allergies. The front door and the bathroom doors are in desparate need of cleaning from all the use - there are very dirty spots on the door jambs and door from being opened/closed/held on to. The handle to the bathroom door is very loose and seemed ready to fall off. The handle to the cold water DID fall off upon first use, and looking back at reviews, I see that this has been a problem for about a year. The beds are ridiculously uncomfortable and need to have the mattresses upgraded. We woke in pain each morning after sleeping on the mattresses. The two chairs are worn and stained, which is not appealing. In addition, the tv has no streaming capabilities or dvd player, leaving us with only local cable to watch. Considering the fact that the neighbors kept smoking (multiple substances) on their balcony, we couldn't spend much time outside or even leave the door open to listen to the waves. The smoke smell also seeps in from next door, even with the doors closed. In addition, there were no parking passes (a common complaint I see!) and the property owners told us just to leave a note on our dash. We did that, and it was fine, but given how much messaging is around the property and in the communication sent by the property owner, we were fearful of getting towed the whole time we were there.
We will never stay here again, but will instead try to rent the unit several doors down that we have had before, and is in wonderful shape.
