The cabin was very nice, next time no spiral staircase. The trek down to the lake was a very steep incline for older people. Enjoyed Dollywood as well as Gatlinburg and Sevierville.

Anniversary Getaway

The property was wonderful. The lake view out the back was spectacular and the mountain view out the front was too. My husband enjoyed some fishing but the trek down to the lake was quite long. Maybe a bench or two might be nice. The chalet was so pretty and was equipped with everything we needed. The hot tub definitely needed descaling. The upstairs bedroom had breathtaking views but could use a chair or a bench to sit on to get dressed. The bathroom mirrors were too high. I am 5'2" and could not see my whole face in the mirror. Had to use the downstairs bathroom mirror to get ready to go out for dinner. Thank you for an amazing place to stay with beautiful views and very peaceful. We would definitely stay here again.

Smoky mountain retreat

The cabin was ok, it had very “small “ spiral staircases going to the upstairs master, and the downstairs two bedrooms. It’s small in width and small steps. I’m in my 40’s very active great balance and of smaller stature and it was difficult esp bringing bags up and down, I really had to pay attention. Wouldn’t want to do this with younger kids either. It was a pain . We had to carry our little 15 pound dog up and down the stairs every time we went, he does stairs with absolutely no problem. There wasn’t any hooks or tables in the bedroom with the bunkbeds so suitcases /bags had to go on the floor, which there was cobwebs and spiders in most corners. Pool table room is too small /not adequate for a pool table so trying to play pool was alittle frustrating and no where to sit/hang out. Also, there is no grass just rocks and very weedy lot wasn’t ideal to take the dog out to potty or for kids to play it’s stickly a cabin NO outdoor place except the deck. Also the walk to the lake is VERY steep so plan on a workout. Anyone that isn’t in “very good shape” would have a hard time climbing up. We r youthful and have kids that are in shape and it made us huff and puff walking up. Wouldn’sitwatch).

Beautiful views, fantastically clean with comfy beds!

Smoky Lake cabin checked all the boxes for our family. The kitchen is well appointed. Absolutely stunning views of Douglas Lake from the decks of each of the three levels. Pool table, arcade game and hot tub were added bonuses. Although the architecturally pleasing spiral staircase is a plus, it is very steep (both up to master suite and down to the game room/ guest bedrooms). It would be difficult for small children and people with health challenges. The master suite is very large and could easily accommodate a pack and play (Bring baby gates if this is a consideration due to steep staircase and no door to master suite). The home is located on a hill above Douglas Lake. It is a VERY steep longish walk down to the lake. Worth every step in our opinion but something to note if traveling with small children or adults with limited mobility. We swam and enjoyed using the dock, saw deer, a bald eagle and lots of other wildlife. If bringing a boat: The driveway would accommodate the truck and trailer. Some of the roads to the home are very narrow and curvy to navigate. Would likely recommend launching and keeping the trailer at the nearby marina. (About 20 minutes away). Another plus for our family is the fairly rural location, yet only an hour or so to Sevierville and Knoxville.

Great Cabin

I booked this cabin for a weekend fishing trip with a friend. The cabin was really nice and spacious, and was very clean. There is a small private boat dock at the bottom of the hill that’s perfect for fishing or swimming. The hike to the dock is paved but is pretty steep, and may not be doable for everyone. The property management company was also very responsive and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. A couple things to note: On the last day, I noticed a camera is in the security system panel located behind the sofa in the living room. Just something to be aware of if you have privacy concerns. The hot tub was in need of cleaning. It was full of some type of sediment and it appeared fiberglass may have begun to wear. (Risk of irritating skin) Since this rental is handled by a property management company, I didn’t see the contract until a few days before the trip. There are some terms in there that were a little concerning such as their ability to put you in a different property if they needed to with no ability to obtain a refund. I didn’t have any issues, but the language made me a little uneasy.

Amazing retreat

We loved the house. It was beautiful and very well stocked. We had an amazing time here and spent all of our days down at the picnic table enjoying the water and fishing off the little private dock. I will note that the trail to get down to the water is extremely steep in places and is quite the walk. If anyone has trouble with steep inclines or breathing problems you would not want to attempt it.

Great Mountain/Lake Getaway for Family

We had family from different states meet up here for Thanksgiving and had a great time!!! The house is as pictured and it is not hard to get to as it is right off of a paved road. Although it is right on a paved road, it is not heavily trafficked so you will still have a quiet and enjoyable stay. The house was great with plenty to keep you busy (pool table, hot tub, video arcade game, board games, cornhole, etc.) and the view was beautiful!!! The kitchen was very well stocked and we had everything we needed, which was really nice. The spiral staircase was aesthetically pleasing but may present trouble for those who have mobility issues. If you are interested in fishing, you should note that the lake is not very accessible from the house itself as the walk down to the lake is steep and ends at a steep drop-off. We were able to find a really nice public pier about 15-20 minutes away though that we visited twice and would recommend. The lake was also VERY low when we visited so this should be different in the warmer months and access may be a bit better from the house. One con of the house is that there were a ton of dead house flies on the window sills that we had to clean up throughout our stay but property management stated that it was due to pest control coming before our visit so this should not be a repeat problem for other guests in the future I just want to be fully transparent in my review. Overall, everyone in our family (child, teen, and adults) enjoyed their stay!!!!
