I highly recommend this place, but want to provide a thorough review. A friend and I, both seniors, spent 2 nights.
While minor, the down sides:
- Porch was a little dirty and there were large spider webs hanging from the ceiling and against the pillars.
- While only a few steps up to the porch from the driveway, there's no hand rail. However, the steps are up against the house, so you can use the house for balance.
- No electrical outlets in dining area. You have to plug in a kitchen outlet.
- Master bath is much smaller than guest bath.
- Light switch for master bath is across the room diagonally from the door. Step into the bathroom and close the door part way to turn on the light switch.
- No wall switch for ceiling lamp in laundry room, just a short pull chain, which we couldn't reach. To do laundry at night, we plugged in a table lamp from another room. During the day, the room has plenty light.
- Our full day, after shopping, returned to find power was out. We had to wait (I think an hour or so) for power to be restored. Power company said owner hadn't paid their power bill.
With all of that, the house is cozy, clean, comfortable and charming. The kitchen is large, bright and well-equipped.
Bedrooms were spacious and beds were comfy. Showers were great and included toiletry dispensers.
Best part was sitting on the front porch looking out over the lake. Even with the summer heat, early evening was quite comfortable with the porch fans on. We'd stay here again.
