Nothing short of awesome
Amazing getaway for relaxation and quality time. The river was great to listen to while sitting by the firepit and safe to swim in for adults. Janet and David were so considerate of all of our needs and very responsive and thoughtful. One of the best VRBO’s I’ve been in, wish I could have been there longer.

Relaxing Family Time
The perfect location for our family to attend a wedding in Dahlonega. The home was clean and well equipped for anything we needed for a comfortable stay. Excellent little house in the woods
Girlfriends getaway weekend! The little house in the woods was perfect for four ladies looking to getaway. The house sits on the river so you get to hear the rush of the water from the covered porch. The house was well stocked for the weekend. The road in is a little narrow and steep but would stay here again.

Amazing views!
Owners are excellent, great communicators throughout the rental! River location is unparalleled, house is very clean and well stocked with all you need. One challenge some much older folks may not want is the very narrow road the 1/4 or so mile before house with no pull offs if you encountered another car. Overall a rental none will come away with unhappy!

Family Holiday getaway
This is a very clean and cozy home with amazing views and lakefront property. Janet and David take extra care to make your stay comfortable by providing the basics necessities to start with. The kitchen has everything you need to cook big family meals. The bedrooms are very comfortable and cozy. The property is amazing! Our kids and grandkids loved it! This home is conveniently close to one of the cutest north Georgia mountain towns - Dahlonega. Also located near many waterfall hikes, kayaking, tubing and wineries! We highly recommend staying here.

Nice Christmas stay
Traveled with my husband and both sets of parents for Christmas. House was as described and very well stocked. The views were wonderful d it was nice to wake up to the sound of running water. Fire pit was great for a chilly winter night. We’d like to return when it’s warmer so we can enjoy the river! Janet was very communicative prior to and during our stay. And it was a nice touch that the house was tastefully decorated for the holiday.

Friends Fun
Gorgeous property with plenty to do. Great outdoor setting with stream that can be seen and heard from enclosed patio. The house is beautifully decorated and nice bedroom space for all. There were 7 adults in our group. Additional seating in living room would have made it more comfortable. And, the road to the property is narrow with curves. Overall, I recommend this property because of its size, outdoor space and wonderful owners!

The Best Thanksgiving
My family had such a great time enjoying Thanksgiving at the H & J Riverhouse. The house is great and the property is stunningly beautiful. It’s right on a small stretch of rapids so the sound of the water was very relaxing. The house is extremely well stocked and the kitchen and grill made cooking for Thanksgiving really easy. The hosts left very clear instructions indicating where everything you need is located in the house. Finally, it’s both very secluded yet only ten minutes from downtown and close to wineries. We would love to stay here again!

Family Wedding
My husband, me, our grown sons and their girlfriends stayed at the River House because we were attending a family wedding. We all loved everything about the house. My husband and sons fished in the river. We sat on the porch drinking coffee and then wine. The owners added special details that made the house homey. No one wanted to leave.

Peaceful paradise
We came to the river to celebrate my sister’s 80th birthday and to revisit Dahlonega. We had plans to do some sightseeing but those plans went out the window when we got to the house. We felt so welcome and then we discovered the screened in porch. The sound of the river coupled with the feeling of being nestled in a treehouse captured us. We surveyed the extremely well equipped kitchen and we made a quick trip to the grocery store and decided not to leave. We will definitely look for an opportunity to go back!

Perfect getaway
This is the perfect place to getaway... We did not have to search outside the property for the kids to find something fun to do.. they loved every second of fishing and playing in the water.. my teenagers were device and phone free by choice!!!!!!

Great spot
This house is so great, the pictures do not do it justice. Having the river directly outside is so peaceful - we sat on the screened deck listening to it free from bugs almost the entire time. Super close to downtown and wineries.

Relaxing Family Memorial Day Weekend :-)
It was remote, beautiful and a nice place to make family memories by the firepit at night, roast marshmallows and smores. Sitting by the river, gazing at the stars and snuggling with loved ones. Just a great weekend!
