The cabin was very nice and cutely decorated. Everything was as described and expected, so no concerns there.
However, there are some real concerns.
First, the cute and decorative sheets are the worst sheets I've ever slept on. They don't fit the mattress, they slip and slide all night, and seem to be one step away from plastic sheets. They were horrible. The plastic that the mattress is wrapped was totally unpleasant. They rattled all night long and because the sheets were so uncomfortable, there was a lot of tossing and turning. Not a pleasant night's sleep for 3 nights. We were there with our teenage grandsons and needed two separate beds for them to sleep. There were no sheets available for the fold down couch. He had to sleep on a blanket (not provided) that we brought from home.
When they say "no towels are provided" they mean for the kitchen as well. So be warned there are none for kitchen use.
Next were the concerns regarding the water. The bathroom sink shot out a lot of rust and metal debris with cold and hot water. When I brushed my teeth, I actually got some metal debris in my mouth.
The shower was nearly useless. The shower head was no more than an inch in diameter and barely sprayed out any water. What did come out shot up on the wall or to the back of the shower. It was almost impossible to even rinse soap off. There was no way I could've washed my hair. There was a slight trickle of water that came out, but it was straight down and impossible to even get under. The bathroom sink worked the best out of all the faucets. I was tempted to wash my hair in the sink.
The kitchen sink water was impossible to wash dishes in. There was less hot water there than in the shower. With almost no water trickle, rinsing dishes was quite challenging. Not to mention it was so hard that it left a white residue on all the dishes.
Lastly, the bat visit. Saturday afternoon, we were all sitting in the living room when all of a sudden a bat flew out of the bathroom, hit the front door, then flew back to a wall in the living room and crashed to the floor. We captured it and released it outside. I called the phone number that was provided in my email for emergencies. I never got a call back. That is unacceptable.
The bats are getting in somehow and should be checked into. Being there with my grandsons, this could have been quite serious, especially if the bats are rabid.
