We have lived a nightmare dealing with Heartwood Furnished Homes. We were messaged two hours prior our check in that we would be unable to use the AC unit to its normal capacity; to keep the unit 20 degrees below the outside temperature. The temperature in Columbia was high 95 to 100 degrees. I immediately contacted the host to tell them unfortunately due to my daughter's chronic condition, we would not be able to stay at their establishment. They told us that they have a strict cancellation policy, and we were not allowed out of the agreement unless someone else picked up the property for the dates we were scheduled to stay. SUPER long story short we were stranded in Columbia in the middle of a heat wave, because of this company. I have spoken to numerous people for numerous hours daily explaining why should receive the refund, since we never stayed at the establishment. The host company’s policy change isn’t the issue. But, changing their policy while we were in route to their home after having a contract with them, which didn’t disclose this requirement beforehand, is an issue. Staying there could have realistically triggered my daughter's condition, and landed us in the hospital by ourselves away from our family support group. We had to scramble to find another establishment to stay at. The company still refuses us the refund. I would not take a risk on this listing or any of the ones listed through Heartwood.
