Upon arrival, we found a number of items that were not cleaned prior to our arrival. Attached are pictures showing cobwebs, dirty air vent and dripping down the wall, molding coffee grounds in the coffee maker, spilled/frozen drippings in the freezer, light fixture globes filled with debris, cracked floor tiles and damaged floor trim -- please attached photos.Additionally, after getting unpacked and close to bedtime for the grandkids, we were informed that the A/C unit was repaired the day before, but still not working with the upstairs exceeding 83 degrees. There was a second A/C unit that supplies the great room that was working, but could not cool the entire house. The owner provided a fan in an attempt to push cool air upstairs. The following morning it was too cold downstairs, but there is no option to control the temp as you need to engage with the owner to change the setting.During conversations our first evening the owner offered us a full refund and we advised him that we would provide a response the following morning. After getting dressed, we contacted the owner and offered to stay at a reduced rate, hoping the weather conditions would be cooler in subsequent days knowing the A/C was not working. The owner did not want to accept a lower rate and asked that we find an alternate rental property, but that we would still be charged the first night and a cleaning fee. This was unacceptable given we spent the first couple of hours cleaning the property.
