“Our stay at 1661 was the perfect location for us to attend a wedding, walk into town, visit their farm & animals, enjoy daily wine & nibbles and breakfast coffee & muffins. We also had 2 opportunities to enjoy the breakfast buffet and both mornings had delicious offerings with home-grown veggies & fresh flowers. Our room was very small which is typical of country inns, but everything was new & immaculate with daily towel exchange & fresh flowers. We even had a private patio! Wonderful people&...

“Charming hotel. Love the history. Staff is extremely nice and welcoming. Enjoyed quietly reading a book by the fire pits. I happened to stay in a room that was above the furnace, I guess? So my “Comfort “ rating would have been higher, but my room was pretty hot - even with the window propped open. Not a huge deal tho. Really loved my first trip to BI and my stay at The National. Will definitely be back. Thanks again to the staff!”

“We had such a lovely stay here. They had upgraded rooms available, and upgraded us without even asking. Wilber helped us out in many ways, sharing great information about dining options and things to do. He was extra accommodating which made our stay fantastic. I would definitely stay here again, especially during the off season! It was a nice, quiet getaway. ”

“If you stay here, you are literally at the center of downtown. Clean rooms, friendly staff. You need to check in at 1661 down the road and they will store your bags on arrival/departure day. This is my second time staying here and I would again in the opportunity presented itself. You can’t go wrong at Hendrickson house! ”
