I’ll say the positive: the house is lovely.
I’ll say overall the experience was negative. The cost for this stay was high, which leads me to believe it would be a more upscale experience; however, the nickel and diming, especially in the off season was tacky & felt very shady. I selected linens when booking—and specifically looked for something about fees because this was a first. I had never had a home not provide them. Then, day of, I received an email about not having linens—when I confirmed that we did need them (since we had already left) we were told the fee would be $299. Absolutely ridiculous! We didn’t have much of an option so bad to do that but that out such a bad taste in my mouth for the entire stay. Add insult to injury—the towels were rough and raggy and the sheets were not soft or comfortable.
There was then a laundry list of things to do to clean before our departure on top of an envelope to leave a tip for cleaning service?? We paid a linen fee, pet fee, and cleaning fee—there should be no expectation of us cleaning (for a 10am departure) nor an expectation to tip—paying their staff is on the properties responsibility, not ours.
I would not recommend this experience namely because if this was the off season I cannot imagine how they’re overcharging in the summer months. Don’t charge luxury prices if you don’t intend to deliver.
