Overall an excellent location to stay. Belmont is by far our favorite part of Charlottesville. This 100+ year old house room consists of a good size bedroom, bathroom and living area plus a kitchen. We were able to complete our stay without ever contacting the hosts. The listing and pictures are mostly accurate, except for a few things worth mentioning:
Firstly, the internet was not 1 Gbps. Once connected, our devices were capped at 30 Mbps up / 30 down. This might be ok for some, but considering the mention of "extended stay" I definitely would have requested faster internet if we had stayed beyond a 5-day vacation. My guess is the 1 Gb connection is capped at 30 per-device and the single wifi is shared across the various rooms throughout the house.
Secondly, the pictures show a fairly well-stocked nespresso / tea area but this was literally, completely empty except for the nespresso machine itself. Given the location, we just walked to pick up coffee (and breakfast) each morning at Belle, but this was an unexpected nuisance as I don't own a nespresso machine and I didn't want to buy any pods. We were also provided only two small toilet paper rolls and a single paper towel roll, and while we did not request more, it was barely enough for a 4-night stay.
The sink was plugged up on arrival - i.e. a quick splash of water hangs in the drain for a few minutes. We did not request to have it unplugged, but this is something I don't usually expect from rentals this nice.
Lastly, and most importantly, the listing fails to mention how incredibly loud the room above is, which also speaks to the amount of noise we were probably creating for anyone possibly staying below us on the first floor. We unfortunately had to endure two of our four evenings with a couple coming home at midnight to 1am. It is extremely loud - you hear literally every word, every footstep, and everything a 20 to 30-something couple would be doing in a "Fantasy Suite" at 1am after a night out. And again in the morning.
If you rent this room, either pray no one is staying in the room above or bring some extremely strong noise cancelling headphones and be prepared to wear them all night long.
In short, neither of us got much sleep until the latter two nights of our stay. It is a very quiet neighborhood, excellent location that we've stayed at year after year in the past, but the "loudness" of this 100+ year old house is a huge dealbreaker for us and we will not be returning.
