I had booked a unit here 6 weeks in advance for a family vacation. We called about 20 minutes prior to our arrival in Nelson and were told that they were overbooked and did not have a room for us. So for a month and a half they knew that our reservation could not be fulfilled and yet nobody from the property or Expedia thought to notify us! Thankfully I was able to find space at a different hotel, but it cost over twice as much due to the peak tourist season. Not Happy!

Super plekje.
Mooi appartement op een geweldige lokatie hartje centrum. Privé parkeerplaats om de hoek. Eetgelegenheden op loopafstand net als diversen winkeltjes. Appartement van alle gemakken voorzien en volledig ingericht. Wat ons betreft een aanrader.

Very responsive manager!
First of all, you can't beat what you get for the price. The cheapest hotel in Nelson's downtown is around the same cost, but here you get your own apartment complete with all the basics that you need for a comfortable stay. Secondly, it's in the heart of downtown surrounded by great food and bars. As for the place itself, it's about what you would expect from an older apartment building, but its well maintained and comfortable. What made this place for us was our experience with the manager. We had a couple of issues that there's very little the staff could have done to prevent, but Faune was very responsive to our needs and worked to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. I'd gladly stay here again.

Location......Location.......Location!
This suite is right in the heart of Nelson, BC; walking distance to everything. The suite may not be modern in it's decor but it is super comfy and super clean. If dining out in one of the many great local establishments is not your thing, then the well equipped kitchen nook has all that you will need to dine in.

Right in the center of Nelson.
Easy to walk anywhere in little time. It was comfy and well equipped. Although, shower temperature was erratic at times.

A great home away from home!
What a great place! The Baker Suites were in a great, convenient location in downtown Nelson, located in a brick building above the Craft Connection store minutes walking from numerous gift shops and restaurants and a minute or two drive from groceries and attractions. The suite was very clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable as was the futon couch in the living room. The unit was well stocked with dishes, towels, linens, cutlery, cooking supplies, a few spices and cooking ingredients, TV, movies, Netflix, and more! Everything you need in a home away from home, a short drive from Whitewater ski hill. Be advised parking is not included; information in the suite said there was discounted parking in a garage a block away but street parking is also free after 5pm and on weekends.

Good accommodation meeting the basic standards
Good and centrally located accommodation for those who are visiting Nelson and don't plan on spending much time in their room. This apartment has the basic amenities one would need for a short stay in Nelson. I stayed there for a ski trip and would stay again in the future.

Baker Apartment
The apartment was right in the heart of historic Baker Street in Nelson. we found it close to all amenities that make up the charming city of Nelson. We also found the people charming and friendly.

Filthy, old and no basic supplies.
Great location. Easy pick up keys. Lots of stairs to get to second floor. Fan in the the bathroom not working. Door knob as well. No bath towels in the washroom. No shampoo, conditioner or soap. Have to go to the store and buy new towels. Good thing that we realize while shops were still open on Saturday afternoon. Top of the fridge look like have never see a cleaning supplies. Same inside cupboards. Used thilthy sponge in the kitchen make me uncomfortable. It should be change every customer. Need a good maintainance and renovation. Will not recommend to others and will never go back to Baker Suites.

Nice suite
Beautiful suite, would stay there again, the only thing wrong is it was very noisy at night, people walking the streets yelling and singing till 4am.

Room for improvement
From the website it wasn't very clear which photos were for which flat. The advertising was ambiguous as we thought that our flat would have a washer and dryer! Our flat #1 is in need of some minor improvements compared to flat #4. Ventilation was really poor! The window in the bedroom was so high up that it was difficult to reach and in any case it wouldn't open and there was no extractor fan in the bathroom. The flat was ventilated by two small windows only in the living room area so the flat always smelled stale! When we arrived, there was a smell that we couldn't pinpoint until the 3rd day when we found the carpet cleaner stored in the bedroom closet which still had dirty water left in it! When #4 does their laundry, you can hear the washer and dryer in #1 bedroom. It didn't keep us awake but was noticeable. Some sort of drawer storage in the bedroom would have been useful. We made prior contact with the owner to arrange key pick up and this worked well. Emails were replied to quickly.

Hidden Fees/Not professionally managed
While the room is decent (not spectacular by any stretch) there are some serious problems that would keep us from staying here again. First, you'll be stuck with a $50 cleaning fee when you book the room, no matter how many nights you book. There's no cleaning that takes place each day like in a hotel, yet you pay the fee. Second: The payment system is a PITA. You're expected to pay at the gift shop next door, where they say they will take your number but can't run your card until after the shift!!??? No thanks! Or you can pay using Paypal, not this site, and the price jumped from $86.87 to $100 per night with no explanation (we stayed in the least expensive of the two rooms pictured). The manager did take off one night from our three-night stay because some random couple was in our room when we arrived. Forgot to mention that. We had to ask them to leave. The room is laid out nicely, but the sheets and furniture are thrift-store quality. Cheap furniture falling apart and yellow spots on the sheets. There's no bath or kitchen vent, so the entire space gets fogged up when someone takes a shower. There's no parking, which is a real pain. Bottom line: For about the same money, you can stay at a real hotel in town like the Hume where you get a breakfast, front desk service, and parking. This place is not ready for prime time. It's worth less than the price listed here, though you'll be asked to pay more than that anyway.

Bed linens were a bit yellow in spots and didn't smell fresh. Kitchen was convenient but bathroom was very cramped with stained tub, no fan and a door knob that didn't work. Lamp by bed was missing a bulb. Hot water changed every time someone near flushed a toilet. Two long fights of stairs to crawl up so if you have heavy things, forget it. Parking was not convenient. Ridiculous charge for cleaning since they don't come in to clean daily and no one is on-site if you need something. I wouldn't stay here again.

Much better than a hotel room
Stayed Mon-Sat and loved that I was right downtown so I could walk to the shops & resturants. A comfortable apartment and loved having a kitchen and living room area. Just be aware you are downtown and a pub down the block has live music nightly and patrons walking/talking outside. WiFi was free but in the evening only worked randomly. Be aware there is a large flight of stairs to get to the suite incase you have issues climbing stairs. All in all I'm glad I stayed here.
