Loved this area of Portugal
We spent seven days here in April, 2023. This is a lovely village with everything you might need for a great time. Restaurants were exceptionally good. The people were very nice and outgoing. Many spoke English. Lots of good walking in the area. We'd go back to this area in a heartbeat. If you go don't miss nearby Marvao castle and village.
As for the house, there are 38 steep steps from the lower level up to the terrace. The middle flight is steepest and has no handrail. The house is 3 levels stacked on top of each other with the terrace on top.
The lower level is a rudimentary apartment. It's tiny "kitchen" was not equipped at all for cooking. The bedroom on this level smelled strongly of mildew in spite of our running the dehumidifier day and night.
The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. Be aware that it is five feet wide, not six as is an American size king bed.
The owner was very kind when we called about needing some kitchen equipment and provided what we ask for immediately.
Tho the the steps were an unpleasant surprise, they helped us burn off calories so we could eat more great food. Don't miss trying Ginja, the fruit-based liqueur of Portugal.
