A group of 7 of us have stayed at this property for past three years, primarily due to location and size of property. Unfortunately, over the last three years we’ve seen the decline of the property. The island is in various states of disrepair as a result of Hurricane Ian, the island is still well worth a visit.
Everything about the property is shabby: shower heads that are inconsistent, calcium build up on faucets, refrigerator actually freezes items, small ants in the kitchen, outdoor and indoor furniture is broken, outdoor furniture had not been cleaned in quite sometime, golf carts are a potential safety hazard, kitchen utensils are in need of replacement, flat pillows.
Originally the property offered 3 boat slips and the description reflected as such. One slip has since been sold, it shares the dock. We discovered the reduction in boat slips upon arrival, as there was a trash boat in the slip, thus, for two days the trash boat was part of our view. Additionally, the third slip gets rented out, therefore, this creates an issue when gear and boats are out, and random people are two feet from all of you stuff.
We are local, we understand Hurricane damage, but this home received zero damage; it’s current state is simply lack of upkeep and care. The management company did offer to rent us an additional boat slip and has since changed the description of the property, but beware, for the cost per night you would be better off to find a different option locally.
