“The property is in a stunning location overlooking the mountains, a short drive to the pretty village of Kilmacthomas. There were ten adults in our party, for a family reunion. Games room well stocked, plenty of room and space for everyone. Couldn’t have asked for anything better, the host, Helen, was very communicative and we have no complaints in any respect,. “We originally booked a 1 bedroom but the night before we got there we were told that wasn’t available and we were being given a different unit. I felt uncomfortable with that at such late notice but the house we were given was much larger and grander. The location was perfect for our stay and travels. The owner was kind and helpful. They have a family farm and were working a lot so we appreciated his time. The views are pretty and it was very peaceful.”

“Spent a week in Oct here while some family members attende Ballymaloe cooking school. Great location with excellent water views. Property manger was very quick to answer questions. We did have to extend our stay as there is no check ins on Sunday. That was an unexpected cost. ”

“We just enjoyed an incredible stay at Mews #6, while a large group of relatives rented four of the newer lodges on the Castlemartyr property. For ten nights we enjoyed cozy digs while being in very close proximity to the rest of the family. Although in need of a few repairs, the cottage suited us well, providing comfort and charm. “Owner was in contact straight with a very extensive information package running to several pages. He also contacted us by TELEPHONE directly from the USA! The booklet emphasised the wooden floors (several times) as also he did (several times) which was a tad OTT (or maybe just tor us standoffish Brits). The irish contact however was really helpful and left the key in an agreed place for us. When we arrived, we were not quite sure which cottage was ours so a sign might be useful. Upon arrival...

“There is not much going on in Fermoy, but it is possible to drive to some major attractions such as the national park if you don’t mind a bit of a drive. The house is very tastefully decorated and well equipped, but it is very small and the beds are listed as queens. If you are coming from America, please note this means full. Not a lot of room for suitcases, but the listing clearly stated how small it was. Overall acute little place, but not really in a destination spot.”
