The property itself was very nice. It was clean and had apparently been recently remodeled. But the customer support was the worst I’ve ever experienced for a rental like this.
1) None of my pre-stay questions were answered. These included what kind of coffee pot was in the property (grounds or pods) and how I’d get the property entrance code.
2) The check-in instructions that were e-mailed to me didn’t include the code for getting into the property. I responded to the host’s text three times asking for that code and instead they kept re-sending the exact same e-mail despite my saying it didn’t contain the code.
3) When I called the property manager, they gave me the ‘emergency code’ since they didn’t seem to be able to find the regular one. When I tried to open the door it didn’t appear to work, but when I called the property manager back, no one answered the phone despite them saying that the number was answered 24-hrs a day.
4) I finally figured out that the door had swollen so it need to be pulled toward you so that the bolt could retract. Understandable on the coast, but THAT would have been nice to include in the check-in instructions.
5) When we got into the property, the internet wasn’t working so none of the televisions or our own devices would connect. This was reported to the customer service representative who eventually called me back.
6) The next day when the technician showed up to fix the internet they were given the address for the property next door! So, seeing it under renovation, the technician left and was unable to return until the next day.
This was my first attempt at using VRBO and it is likely the last.
