"The Hideout" is a great little setup. Very small (just as described in the listing) but with amazingly efficient use of space. Very clean and the hosts are responsive to requests and very helpful.
Really cool to have "complimentary breakfast" (free eggs laid by the chickens of the hosts). I cooked my own breakfast (eggs, sausage, cheese, and bread - from the complimentary French bread provided by the hosts) every morning (reduced expenses, saved time versus a sit down restaurant, and a pleasant, quiet start to the morning from the privacy of The Hideout).
And the hosts are beekeepers and provide guests w/free honey from their bees - sweet!
The view from The Hideout of the surrounding mountains is beautiful and changes as the lighting changes from dawn, to full daylight, to dusk.
Convenient location to Linville Gorge, Carvers Gap, Mount Mitchell and other hiking destinations. Places of stunning natural beauty.
While I did not have time visit it due to a short 4 day stay and ambitious hiking schedule, the Mayland Earth to Sky Planetarium with the largest telescope open to public use in the southeast United States and a co-located planetarium is less than 2 miles away.
There are many other local attractions related to the history of the region, local artists, etc., and "The Hideout" is a great place to base your travels from and the hosts are friendly and helpful.
An un-bee-leavable place, but unfortunately I did have to leave - hopefully to return!
