Where to begin with this beautiful property?! The house itself is huge, welcoming, and very homelike with a relaxed vibe and atmosphere. Whether a group of 15 or just 2 people, you won’t be disappointed. It should be noted, as it is in the woods, it's a bit of a drive into town, and that's to be expected, but just something to note. We slept on the main floor and enjoyed relaxing in the large, open living room/kitchen, where we played a few board games (provided by our hosts) and listened to music. On another note, there is Wi-Fi but no cable in the house, although the owners were nice enough to leave us access to their Amazon Prime so we could watch TV if we wanted but there was just too much else to do. There's also a gas fireplace that was nice to relax in front of at night. We had a blast in the game room in the basement! FYI, parents, this would be a great hangout area for the kiddos. There are bedrooms, couches, air hockey, foosball, and a TV, all for entertaining young and old. Another thing we very much enjoyed was lounging outside on the wrap-around porch. There is access to a private boat dock for fishing, swimming, and/or just catching some rays! It's about a two-minute walk down a path behind the house. There is also a swing and firepit area next to the house, unfortunately, it rained a lot during our visit, so we were unable to take advantage of that. However, the hosts were very thoughtful and did leave us stocked with firewood and a new lighter to light the fire. In addition to all this, I also very much enjoyed taking my morning baths in the jacuzzi tub located on the ground floor. I mean there isn't much this home doesn't have. It's very spacious with lots and lots of room. Some things we did around the area were, we visited various antique shops located in town, we rented a boat on Lake Cumberland (lots of boat rental places nearby), we had wonderful BBQ at Sonny’s BBQ Restaurant (recommended by the hosts), and we made plans to go on a private boat tour of Cumberland Falls. (however, sadly, our trip was cut short so we had to cancel that). So, there are many things to do in the area, but plan at least a day to just relax at the house, as there's plenty to do there as well. Lastly, the hosts were AMAZING! Extremely, friendly and helpful in every way possible!! They went above and beyond to make our stay one we won’t soon forget. If you're questioning booking this property, stop questioning, and BOOK IT, you won't regret it!
